UPDATE 8/11/2020

We have been re-opened for 3 months already!!! Yes, some things have changed in business operations; however, the excellent care our patients receive at every single visit, will never change!

1. The only patients who are offered an appointment are those who currently

  • Do NOT have any symptoms associated with COVID-19
  • Have not traveled in any of the hot-spots in the past 2 weeks
  • Have not been in contact with any confirmed COVID-19 positive patients
  • Are not medically fragile

2. When you schedule an appointment with our office

  • You will receive a COVID-19 Questionnaire via email (or it can be completed over the phone)
  • You will received another email with our detailed protocol, as follows below.

3. This is what you can expect:

– Please call us when you arrive in the parking lot. We will let you know if your treatment room is ready, and when to come in.

– Please wear a mask.

– We will take your temp when you walk in.

– We will provide hand sanitizer for you to use.

– We will ask you to rinse with diluted hydrogen peroxide rinse.

– Please keep your mask on at any time dental treatment is not being performed.

– We will provide hand sanitizer on your way out.

– If we are doing dental treatment, we will use Dryshield (high volume intra-oral evacuation system to reduce the amount of aerosols in the treatment area).

– Our office is a Clean Air Facility (our Air filtration system reduces the amount of airborne pathogens in our facility)

Update 5/13/2020

Dear dental family,

Today marks 8 weeks since our office has been open only for true dental emergencies/mostly closed.

Despite KY’s recommendation to allow dental offices to open, the supply of FDA approved masks is not available for purchase/distribution. On Monday, May 11th, we had planned to start seeing patients who had true dental needs.  Our office was stocked up with KN95 masks purchased by legit dental vendors. On Friday the FDA announced that they removed from the list of approved vendors 65 or the 80 NK95 mask manufacturers. Unfortunately, all the inventory we currently have at the office is made by manufacturers who are no longer on the FDA approved list. As you can imagine, this was a huge disappointment. We’re back where we started… searching more sources to order authentic masks. Thankfully, I have several promising leads.

The safety of patients and staff alike has always been and will continue to remain my #1 priority.

Until we secure the right PPE approved by FDA, we will need to postpone elective & non urgent dental treatment.

As soon as I know an ETA of these masks, my staff and I will reach out to all of you who have so patiently waited to reschedule your appointments. I want to sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding.

Many measures have already been taken to comply with recommendations set forth by CDC, OSHA, ADA. We will open our doors with confidence knowing that we have gone above and beyond to keep staff and patients safe (and in turn stop the spread of COVID-19).

Stay tuned for updates. Check out the photos and Videos of the ‘new office look’ along with ‘new provider look’. In addition I will make available forms explaining  ‘new office protocol’. A lot may change on how we interact and do business as we slowly open our office. But our core values and mission remain the same. We are dedicated to provide exceptional quality dental care in a friendly, compassionate, honest, judgment-free, no pressure environment. Our commitment to your dental health will be stronger than ever.

We hope you are all staying healthy, and doing well considering the circumstances.

As always, I will continue to answer your calls daily and provide any guidance or assistance.

Update 5/1/2020

Dear dental family,

I have been holding off on posting an update because I wanted the next one to announce that our office is open for all dental procedures. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Due to lack of proper PPE (N95 masks or equivalent), we are not able to serve our patients yet.

As of 9 weeks ago, I have placed multiple orders through different distributors and have not yet received a single shipment of proper masks. We all know there is a great shortage of supplies. I expect them to arrive any day and when they do, my staff and I will reach out to all of you who have so patiently waited to reschedule your appointments. I want to sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding.

Dear Patients and Friends  – 4/5/2020

WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!

We hope you are all staying home as much as possible, staying healthy, and doing well considering the circumstances.

We have been asked by the State of KY to remain closed except for emergencies until further notice.

Dr. Lefta will continue to be available for emergency phone calls (502-244-1500) and to help triage any dental emergencies that come up.

As we all pull together to get through this, Dorsey Family Dental has joined with others in donating our extra masks and gloves to ER departments, and others on the front lines fighting COVID-19. We are confident that we will get through this time together by being physically apart and by listening to the wisdom of scientists and healthcare professionals who are fighting this pandemic, for whose hard work and sacrifices we are immensely grateful

        FREE TOOTHBRUSH & TOOTHPASTE:  Starting April 6th, MONDAY-FRIDAY 10:00 AM-4:00 PM

We will set up a table outside of our office. If you or a family member need oral care products, please stop by to pick them up for FREE. We hope this will save you a trip at the store.

We very much look forward to serving all of you again as soon as possible.

Stay safe, stay healthy, stay home.

Last update 3-16-20, 11 AM

This is an emerging, rapidly evolving situation, and we will provide updated information as it becomes available.

Dear Patients,

As the Coronavirus COVID-19 Outbreak unfolds, I want to assure you that I am closely following all recommendations from the CDC (Center of Disease Control) and ADA (American Dental Association). I am dedicated to keep all patients and staff safe during these challenging times.

For the time being, our office hours remain unchanged.

We are taking extra precautions to ensure everyone’s safety.

Social distancing is encouraged by:
o Asking patients to wait in their cars until their appointment time (we will call you if we are running ahead or behind schedule)
o Asking patients to not bring children or others along (unless patient requires a driver)
o Placing chairs further apart in the waiting area and installing a clear partition barrier

Possibility of contamination is reduced by:
o Removing our complementary snacks, magazines, non-essential décor, kids play area, couch pillows.
o Encouraging single use of pens/sharpies to fill out paperwork

All common areas (including door knobs) will be disinfected frequently

Hand sanitizer and soap is available

– At the beginning of each dental appointment:
o Patients & staff will be required to wash hands
o Temperature of each patient will be taken
o Patients will be asked to rinse with antimicrobial rinse
o Doctor & Staff will be asked to wear face shield in addition to mask and protective eye wear.
o Patients will be encouraged to wash hands before leaving our office

Please, call to reschedule your appointment if:
– You feel ill (running a fever, have a cough or trouble breathing)
– You have traveled internationally in the past 2 weeks
– You have been in contact with individuals who are confirmed to have COVID-19.
– You have an underlying health condition that puts you at higher risk for getting COVID-19.

These are challenging times, but with faith and support from each-other we will persevere.

As always, I sincerely thank you for the opportunity to serve you.

Wishing health and Blessings to all,

Dr. Tina Lefta
