Dr. Tina Lefta
I completed my undergraduate degrees in Biology and Spanish at Eastern Kentucky University (Richmond, KY) where I graduated with high honors. I graduated from Dental School as well as Residency in General Dentistry at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry (Lexington, KY) with distinction. Training in Sedation Dentistry, implant placement and treatment of medically compromised patients, were among the highlights of my residency program. My training did not end after the dental residency. Each year I participate in numerous Continuing Education Courses to assure I can offer my patients the most up-to-date dental procedures using the most effective methods and best materials available in our field. I am working towards becoming a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. I am fully credentialed and licensed to practice General Dentistry in the states of Virginia and Kentucky. I am certified to Perform Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique.
I am a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Kentucky Dental Association and the Louisville Dental Association. Additionally,
In my career as a dentist, I have had the opportunity to treat patients of all ages in a variety of dental settings – from hospital clinics, corporate practices, larger and smaller practices, to my latest position as a solo dentist. I’m grateful for the many experiences I have had, as each have helped to shape me into the clinician I am today. I have enjoyed the most working as a solo dentist in a small office. That is what you will find at Dorsey Family Dental – a family-friendly atmosphere and the highest quality dental care delivered in the most gentle, caring, and compassionate manner.
I am extremely excited about this new chapter in my career and would really appreciate the opportunity to meet and serve each of you! Come see me for your next appointment. I promise you will not be disappointed!
Joanna Humes, Office Manager
I have been in dentistry for 29 years as a business manager/treatment coordinator. I love what I do and adore our patients! I've been married for 26 years to a wonderful man with two amazing children. In my free time, I just enjoy sitting on my porch listening to the birds sing, and being with my family.

I have been fearful about being a dental patient most of my life. I had a terrible experience as a child. Because of this I made two promises to myself when I started my career in dentistry: I would never be the reason someone would be afraid of going to the dentist and I would always treat patients the way I would want to be treated. I have chosen to work with wonderful people who feel the same way and together we give our patients the best treatment available.
