Tina Lefta, DMD
Hello future patient! Welcome and thank you very much for taking time to read about me. I have been the owner of Dorsey Family Dental since January 2017. I truly enjoy practicing dentistry, running my dental office, being a mom to my amazing children, a wife, daughter, sister and friend. Finding that life-work balance has been a welcomed challenge these past few years. I am beyond grateful for all the blessings I have been showered with in my personal and professional life. I am surrounded by an incredible team that I am proud to call my work family.
I completed my undergraduate degrees in Biology and Spanish at Eastern Kentucky University (Richmond, KY) where I graduated with high honors. I graduated from Dental School as well as Residency in General Dentistry at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry (Lexington, KY) with distinction. Training in Sedation Dentistry, implant placement and treatment of medically compromised patients, were among the highlights of my residency program. My training did not end after the dental residency. Each year I participate in numerous Continuing Education Courses to assure I can offer my patients the most up-to-date dental procedures using the most effective methods and best materials available in our field. I am working towards becoming a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. I am fully credentialed and licensed to practice General Dentistry in the states of Virginia and Kentucky. I am certified to Perform Chao PINHOLE® Surgical Technique to restore receding gums as well as BIOCLEAR technique to offer patients a more youthful smile.
I am a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Kentucky Dental Association and the Louisville Dental Association.
In my career as a dentist, I have had the opportunity to treat patients of all ages in a variety of dental settings – from hospital clinics, corporate practices, larger and smaller practices, to my latest position as a solo dentist. I’m grateful for the many experiences I have had, as each have helped to shape me into the clinician I am today. I have enjoyed the most working as a solo dentist in a small office. That is what you will find at Dorsey Family Dental – a family-friendly atmosphere and the highest quality dental care delivered in the most gentle, caring, and compassionate manner.
I would really appreciate the opportunity to meet and serve each of you! Come check out our office for your next appointment. I promise you will not be disappointed!

Hello! I am a graduate of the University of Louisville Dental School and a long time resident of the Louisville area. I moved here 24 years ago and upon finishing my education, decided that this was where I wanted to raise my family. I live in North Oldham county with my husband and two college age kids. In my free time I enjoy cooking, gardening and traveling with my family. The care, comfort and well-being of my patients are my top priorities and hallmarks of the Dorsey Family Dental practice. Working with Dr. Tina Lefta and the entire staff is a great pleasure. The cooperative and professional nature of the entire team helps further the excellent care we promise our patients.
Paige Stringer, RDH
Hi! My name is Paige and I am the Dental Hygienist here at Dorsey Family Dental. I was born and raised in Monticello, Kentucky. I moved to Lexington in 2014 to pursue my Dental Hygiene career. I graduated from Bluegrass Community and Technical College in 2016. My favorite part of being a Dental Hygienist is talking and getting to know my patients. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping, and playing with my two cats.
Lorrie McKenzie, EDDA
I have been fearful about being a dental patient most of my life. I had a terrible experience as a child. Because of this I made two promises to myself when I started my career in dentistry: I would never be the reason someone would be afraid of going to the dentist and I would always treat patients the way I would want to be treated. I have chosen to work with wonderful people who feel the same way and together we give our patients the best treatment available.
Sunnye Forden, Office Manager
I started out in the dental field as an EDDA and was in that position for several years before moving to a front staff position. I decided that I wanted to go back to school for a business degree, and moving to the front was a great way to stay in the dental field, and still get relevant experience! I believe that my knowledge of the clinical side helps me out tremendously on the administrative side, because I understand the treatment and what it entails, behind all of the codes. I truly love everything about being in the dental field, but my absolute favorite is being able to have a hand in changing a patient's outlook on coming to the dentist and make their visits something they look forward to, instead of something they dread! With the rest of the team at Dorsey Family Dental, it is easy to do because everyone cares so much for the patients and the experience we provide.
